Interview with Ragin’ Contagion

Artist

This time, we get to know Ragin’ Contagion, an excellent pop-music producer and a virtuoso on multiple instruments, in this exclusive interview.

The Ragin’ Contagion is Dave Godbey. Dave started his musical career in Boston as the bass player in Fox Pass. He now lives in Baltimore, Maryland. Since 2015 he has accompanied many singers around the Baltimore area. In the last few years he began writing the songs that would become the CD Everybody Has A Story. When the covid 19 pandemic hit resulting in lockdown in March of 2020, Dave moved into his home studio and recorded this album as the Ragin’ Contagion. The Ragin’ Contagion played all the instruments on this CD with help from Carolyn Lee (vocals), Elena Gray (vocals), Chris Spagnolo (saxophones), Mr. Curt (keyboards), and Thillman Benham (cello).

Tell us more about your upcoming project?
A musical production, CD: Full Hazmat Suit is a love story about Tony and Ariel. A couple who met in the virtual world and fell madly in love. The virtual world was necessary when 100 years prior a greedy and power hungry pharmaceutical CEO led his company to develop a deadly virus along with a cure. His intent was to release the virus simultaneously all over the world, and sell the cure to earn a trillion dollars in revenue for the company.

All humans were killed when something went wrong with the antidote. All except for pregnant women (who are immune to the symptoms of the disease somehow) and some others who managed to stay isolated through the release. As a result of the disease, any personal contact between people resulted in death to those not wearing full hazmat suits.

Because of the disease, people learned how to work, learn, and play in virtual environments. Tony and Ariel talked about how they would meet someday in person, and planned traveling the world, when a cure was finally found. They got what they were hoping for, but not in the way you think, in an unexpected twist.
